KISS offering new perspective with latest band biography

Gene Simmons says "Nothin' to Lose: The Making of KISS," offers something different from the other books published over the years about his band.

The blood-spitting bassist tells "Rolling Stone" the new book offers another perspective.  While Simmons and KISS frontman and co-founder Paul Stanley are listed as authors with writer Ken Sharp, Gene says "Nothin' to Lose" doesn't just tell their version of events.

He explains that it includes "stories and anecdotes from other rock stars and journalists" who share "what they saw, what they heard, and what it was like" to be with KISS at that time.

"Nothin' to Lose" focuses on KISS' formation and early days, covering the years 1972 through '75.

The book is in stores now.
